Context A critical aspect of military aircraft fleet management is aircraft availability. The problem is complex because maintenance resources are limited and a typical aircraft has components with different maintenance requirements. The example below demonstrates some of the complexity in a fleet of 10 aircraft. The model utilises an agent based modelling approach, enabling larger fleet numbers to be modelled with little additional model construction effort. |
